Balls...
A female student walkd into the teacher's "prep" room today. There were 3 or 4 teachers in the room, including myself. The student proceded to ask; " Do any of you teachers have a charger for a Motorola cell phone?". I just laughed and laughed.

Rubber Bands
I heard a "funny" story from a teacher today. This particular teacher was subbing for a class, in the class she noticed little rubber bands being shot around. She finally was able to pinpoint the shooters. She stood by and tried to stop them, however they just continued to shoot them at one another. She told a teacher walking by the class what was happening, this teacher brought the rubber bands to the A.P. The A.P. took the rubber bands, nothing said.........walked into his office........locked the door behind him..........and shut out the lights.

School Daze
I can't believe that it's March 12th already....wow, time does fly. Overall it's been a great year and I feel I've grown more confident. One interesting thing this year is having new co-workers.....I love to watch and listen to them. I always compare what stresses them out to my situations during the day. I wonder why a few teachers get so deeply stressed by students, I mean isn't that why you became a teacher? Is that what a long teaching career does to you?

Basketball Diaries
So I coach basketball, and we won today! The kids are so funny, they love to sing on the subway ride home. Sing outloud mind you, outloud and out of tune. Now I had two thoughts on this on the way home:
a) if I were a passenger on my way home from work I might be extremely pissed off and agitated by this
b) these kids are just that-kids, and they are having a harmless, good time
It's funny because I think If I wasn't a teacher I would be that pissed off commuter. However I am a teacher and the kids are great, plus I make fun of how bad their singing is anyway!

Being a Teacher is tough!
It's tough when you have doubts as a teacher. Days when you feel like you suck - days you feel like the kids suck. I guess it's only natural, right? And I also wager that I wouldn't grow as a teacher or a person if I didn't doubt myself at times. Right?......RIGHT?......RIGHT!

Education a la Tony Soprano
I Found this article online. At least the parents care, right? Just kidding, what dumbasses. He was probably beaten more for the cell phone ban than the grades. Cell phones are a pain in the ass in schools.
Italian parents beat up principal over grades
Dad, grandfather of student rough up educator; mobile phone ban also cited.
BARI, Italy - An irate Italian family beat up a principal because they were unhappy with the grades a young relative had received and a ban on mobile phones at school.
Three male relatives, including the father and grandfather of the student, punched and pushed principal Ugo Castorina at the Lombardi middle school in Bari on Saturday, police said.
They were angered by grades on the latest report card and by a recent ban by Castorina on mobile phones at the school he has run for the past 22 years.
Castorina was taken to hospital and treated for mild contusions. Police escorted him back to the school.“Some people may not like it but standards must be set and rules must be respected if a school is to function,” Castorina told reporters.

Attack of the Lesbian Students
Just a typical week........lesbian students hooking up on stairs, new keys that don't work, sitting in a pile of glitter and glue............typical, but I love it!
